Description
The famous Golden Temple is located in Amritsar, about 450 km from National Capital. Golden Temple is the prominent religious place of the Sikh community. Thousands of devotees offer their prayers at this Gurudwara. A trip to Amritsar also takes you to Wagah Border and the Jallianwala Bagh- Martyrs’ Memorial.
DAY# 1 Delhi To Amritsar
Guests arrive at the hotel. Leave for Amritsar by a morning train from Delhi. Reach Amritsar in the afternoon. Check in at hotel.
Guests are taken to Wagah Border to witness the Border Retreat Ceremony. Also known as the Berlin Wall of Asia, Wagah Border is the only land border open between India and Pakistan. The evening flag retreat is a spectacular event held daily at the border.
The ‘lowering of the flag’ ceremony is an energetic parade demonstrated by the Border Security Force of India and the Pakistan Rangers soldiers. The border has been the pressure point of the relation between India and Pakistan.
Overnight stay in Amritsar hotel.
DAY# 2 Amristar To Delhi
Start the journey to Golden Temple in the morning. Golden temple is traditionally known as Harmandir Sahib. It exemplifies the magnificence and profundity of Sikh religion. The temple is located in the middle of a lake surrounded by a thin forest. Considered as the sanctum sanctorum of Sikh faith, the Golden Temple attracts several thousands of devotees every year. This includes devotees from around the world.
After visiting the temple, guests head towards Jallianwala Bagh- Martyrs’ Memorial, which is constructed in the shape of a flame that depicts eternal truth and liberty. It reminds visitors of the ill-fated day of about 2000 martyrs who fell under the bullets of British General Dyer during the freedom movement.
Return to Delhi. Upon arrival overnight stay at Delhi.
DAY# 3 Delhi
Sightseeing at Delhi. Important attractions in the city include Raj Ghat, Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple, Jantar Mantar, Parliament House, Jama Masjid and Chandhni Chowk. Shopping at Chandhni Chowk and Connaught Place.
After city tour, guests are sent back to respective destinations.
